emergency first aid course
Within this session our BLS instructor and experienced NICU nurse Katherine will cover how to manage emergency situations with your newborn and infant, leaving you feeling confident with the skills to manage any concerns that arise. This course covers basic life support, choking, seizures, anaphylaxis and as a bonus due to Katherine’s triage nursing experience we will also cover how to manage illness in your newborn and when and where to seek support when you are worried your baby is sick.
What will we cover?
- Basic life support (resuscitation and CPR)
- Unresponsive baby
- Choking
- Seizures
- Anaphylaxis
Illness and Symptoms, what’s normal, what’s not.
- Rashes
- Baby more sleepy than usual/not waking for feeds
- Unusual nappies
- Vomiting
- Fever and low temperatures
- Falls and head injuries
- Breathing concerns
- Infections
What to keep in your First aid kit.
1 ½ hour
Cost £35 per person (group session, 12 attendees)
One-to-one first aid sessions available – £95 (2 persons)
