FAQ’s

Is Vicky a specialist nurse? – Yes Vicky is a specialist paediatric Advanced clinical practitioner – she is as advanced as nursing gets before you get to a doctor. She sits within the medical team and is qualified to diagnose, treat and prescribe independently – think the best mix of Dr and Nurse.

Does Vicky have experience with complex children? Yes, she is an incredibly experienced nurse, she has worked in children’s nursing for many years and has managed many complex children’s care.

What if Vicky thinks my child needs tests? Vicky will refer you to your GP with a letter explaining her findings if she feels your child would benefit from further investigations. Her assessments are thorough and she will top to toe check your child to make sure nothing is being missed causing your concerns.

Can Vicky prescribe the medication my child needs? She can. She may decide however that the cheapest way for you to obtain a prescription is to attend your GP with her letter and request they prescribe it on the NHS. Private prescriptions are not a problem but they do incur a charge.

I don’t live near the clinic, can I still come to the clinic? Yes, we are not restricted by your location or who your GP is. Although Vicky is very respected locally, her qualification still holds weight with wherever your GP is based, if you’re prepared to travel, we are happy to see you.

How many times can I book a check in the clinic? Unlike the NHS there is no limit to how many times you can come back for support. If you need it, we will happily see you. That’s why we set up our service.
